Take Me Home

Rating: 4/5

One Direction's newest album Take Me Home came out November 13, 2012 topping the charts in over thirty-two countries, which should come to no surprise considering their first album “Up All Night” was such a huge hit.

Harry, Zyan, Liam, Nial, and Louis worked together on this album with Ed Sheeran and McFly’s Tom Fletcher to create a more “live band” feel harry explained in an interview “we want to have a little bit heavier guitars, bigger drums, more of a live feel, because that’s what we like doing”, and believe me they definitely fulfilled that vision.

The album starts off with their first single "Live While Were Young". The song is one you will find yourself singing along to no matter how many times you’ve listen to it. With a catchy chorus and a beginning that sounds a little too familiar to Clash’s “Should I Stay Or Should I Go” it is the perfect out look as to what the rest of the album is going to be like.

Number two on the list is “Kiss You” by far the catchiest one and the third single off the album. It’s extremely up beat and makes you want to get up and dance. It’s also the song that is a little risky with lyrics like “if you don’t wanna take it slow and you just wanna take me home baby say yeah and let me kiss you” showing that the boys themselves are growing up a little bit but don’t worry you’ll be too caught up in the song you can’t help but love it.

Next the boys slow it down with "Little Things" showing an acoustic vibe and giving every boy a solo and then coming together for the chorus. This song no doubt is the one girl is going gaga over. The boys list almost every possible thing a girl could be insecure about but then continues to say how all those little things contribute to the love they have for her. A nice save if you ask me.

The beat picks back up with a speaker pounding club dancing song called "c'mon c'mon".It tells the repeated story of a dateless boy who then sees a girl across the room and has to psych himself up to go over and ask her to dance. It’s a loud song that had me turning my speakers down.

"Last First Kiss" is about the fairytale love of finally finding the one but being too scared to say anything with the chance of them running away. Its mid tempo and a great recover from the previous song. It’s also an added bonus that Zyan, Louis and Liam help with the songwriting making you feel like they wrote it especially for you.

Up next is "Heart Attack" a stand out on the album. With a chorus opening in “OWW!” what could go wrong?

Starting with the famous “We Will Rock You” stomp "Rock Me" has the fake rock vibe and you will only need to listen to the song once be for you memorize the lyrics but never the less will have you wanting to listen to it on repeat.

"Change My Mind", a mature song. One most will skip over due to the sappiness of it. With lyrics like “never felt like before, are we friends or are we more” it’s the over played movie of friends with benefits.

Continuing on "I Would" is extremely catchy and a favorite. It showcases the boys sense of humor with lyrics like “cause I can’t compete with your boyfriend, he’s got 27 tattoos” A cute and cheesy song.

If you were a fan of “Little Things” you will not be disappointed with "Over Again". The boys once again have their own solos and every single one of them sound amazing in this number. It starts with acoustic but brings in the extra instruments at the perfect time it just might make you break the replay button.

"Back For You" the normal boy band groupie love. It’s back to upbeat and to the original feel of the album. It’s one that will get stuck in your head for the rest of the day.

Another favorite, "They Don't Know About Us" the classic Romeo and Juliet love story. “They don’t know I’ve waited all my life, just to find a love that feels this right, baby they don’t know about us.” Almost every teen can relate to this song.

Last "Summer Love" the boys again help write the song and as a closer I am quite dissatisfied. The vocals were not the best and it was lacking in the music department as well. It was a disappointment to say the least.

Overall the album is fun and infectious, and will be played at every sleepover across the world.
